What scales can i use for a Rock and roll solo in the Key of A?!?

i have recorded a rhythm section , just a basic rock and roll rhythm in the key of A. Now i want to be able to solo over the top of the. what scales am i "allowed" to use for this?|||The key of A what? Major? Minor? Blues? Whatever that is, that is the scale you use. The pentatonic scale is probably your best choice if you're playing rock n roll.
