Why call it the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" and then put all these other genres in?

I heard a guy ask this question some where. Why call it the "Rock and Roll Hall of Fame" and then put all these other genres in?

Why not make a R%26amp;B And a Jazz Hall of Fame.

They already have a Country Music hall of Fame.

they wanted to be fair for all the different genres i guess. or at least seem like it. in reality, they just picked ppl who would attract the most people and bring more money.
