Not that I'm calling Kiss great artists, but they ruled the hard rock scene in the late 70's- very influential. Why would the Beastie Boys (GAG...) get in but not these guys? And don't get me started on Motorhead- Lemmy is the King of Rock, no contest- and Motorhead single-handedly started speed/thrash metal and influenced countless bands while maintaining their artistic integrity.

My mom was a teenager when rock music came out, and her church (which is still one of the strictest Christian denominations) never officially condemned it. Dancing was an issue in some churches from the 1890s, which was long before rock existed.
So I'd have to ask you for your proof that all Christians and all churches came out against rock, because I'd say based on what I've read and heard that other than a few older people having issues with the "loud" music "kids" were listening to, and Elvis' hip-gyrating, rock wasn't an issue. Until the 1980s, there was very little controversy regarding any kind of music, and even in the 80s, only some Christian groups came out against rock. Most didn't care one way or another.

Well it all started in the 50's, evolved from Country, Blues and what we call now R%26amp;B.
Back then it was called "be-bop" or down here in the South, "***** spirituals." (no racism intended).
What all started it were a few artists such as Fats Domino, Little Richard, Sam Cook, Erline Harris,
The artists:
Buddy Holly, Bill Haley and Chuck Berry. Just a few.
It was heavily preached against by the church and some radio stations banned it, but soon enough it evolved into a worldwide phenomenon.
The fashion:
Most back then wore the traditional suit and tie.

I don't know that much about the origin, but it mainly began with bands like The Beatles, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix in the 1960's (you might want to do a bit about woodstock in your project, it was a huge festival), which are bands that are now 'classic rock'. It was a bit hippie-ish back then so the main fashion was the frills, bell bottoms, etc. The 70's was bands like Van Halen, and was the eginning of NBWoHM (New British wave of heavy metal, with metal being a branch off of rock of course) with bands like Black Sabbath, and Iron Maiden, and bands getting considerably heavier. (Fashion mostly ripped jeans, and spandex for many bands, which also went into the 80s) The 1980's was the takeover of grunge, glam, punk, and thrash. Glam was pretty much heavy metal with big hair, (like WASP, motley crue, twisted sister etc). It was the main birth of biker boots and leather.Thrash Metal are bands like Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer. 90's were the birth of many Nu Metal bands, and also the time that many bands were beaten by punk and underground. Skinny jeans, etc. Then you have now with nickleback, disturbed, and A7x -_____________-

It wasn't because I had "head" problems, but I needed to show some expenses on my part since I made more money than my ex. Anyways, my best friend(of 25 years) had already been single for a few years and she was into drinking and one night stands.She couldn't wait until we started partying together again.I went out a few times with her, but I knew that lifestyle was not for me, but I didn't know how to get out of it. My shrink said some people are toxic and no matter how long you have known them, you have to keep away from them to stay healthy. I finally told my friend that we were at different places in our lives right now, and I needed some space, because I could not do the night life. I told her I would be willing to go shopping or lay by the pool during the day if she needed me to talk. But, she has cut all ties with me. It makes me sad, but a big part of me is relieved.
I can't relate, none of my friends do that, or ever did.
But I do work with a Drug Rehab place, and you need to be straight, but gentle, and tell her you can't go on seeing her. Maybe that will help her get her life together.

You don't have to be mean but you must be firm when you tell the old friend that you two no longer have anything in common. Keep phone calls brief, don't meet her for lunch, don't send her a Christmas card or emails. Cut it off. I had to drop an old friend too. I could tolerate her wild ways when we were young but just don't have the patience to listen to her crap anymore. I don't hate her, just don't want to have anything to do with her.

Well I'm going for a punk look. Just my impression for rock and roll, haha.
You could wear skinnny jeans. I would recommend black or a dark pair. I would wear a band tee. Then, a pair of converse, any color would be pretty much okay. For your hair, You could just wear it down, however you normally do and add like some hair pieces with bows or clips, etc ... It'll give you that more punk look.

The acts he showcased at his R%26amp;R Dance Parties, were people like Jerry Lee Lewis, Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, the Big Bopper, Chuck Berry and a bunch of others that, if you listened to them at all, you'd say well that's just pop. But that's what the R%26amp;RHOF is about, not your narrow taste in music.

Rock And Roll
When Rock arrived on the music charts in the 1950's, a merging of African-American and White music, it made a huge impact on society. As a general rule I am not heavily into music, but I was drawn to Rock for some inexplicable reason. It is just the music I like. I live in Cleveland, and I feel like we are again looked down upon by the rest of the country by not allowing us to hold the induction ceromonies in Cleveland. I know that I am not the only one. Look at it sometime, they'll be in Pittsburgh one night and Detroit the next. Right past Cleveland. What a shame.

Yeah, its a real shame the induction ceremony isn't held in Cleveland. An event like this would really be good for the local hospitality industry. It doesn't even make much sense for the museum, because the induction ceremony gets so much PR and press coverage. The museum would benefit more if they brought all this PR and coverage to where the museum actually is.

Tower of Terror isn't scary anymore. It was really cool when it first opened up and it dropped after the first time the doors open! Now, it gets boring after being "bounced" anywhere from 2-5 times....at least, for me anyway. (And I'm terrified of heights - but since it's indoors, that part doesn't really bother me. You only see outside for a second.)
The Rock and Roller Coaster is just an indoor roller coaster, like Space Mountain. It's wilder than than Space Mountain, but it's not like a Six Flags roller coasters. It's not scary at all.
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror is very scary. It's my favorite ride. I went to Disneyland a few months ago where there were no lines and I rode this thing 30 times. I screamed like a girl each time. I'd highly recommend it.Rock and Roll rollarcoaster MGM Orlando?
They are both very fun rides, but that is my opinion. I personally don't consider them too scary but I can tell you how some people would think of them. Rock and rollercoaster goes upside, is semi-dark, and does go pretty fast. There is nothing about this ride that is "haunted house" scary but if heights/going upside/rollercoasters freighten you then you would consider this ride scary. If not, then you won't. On the other hand, Tower of Terror would scare people who are afraid of heights but also has a little bit of a "haunted house" scary feel. The story line of the ride may scare little kids or people who frieghten easily and there is a free-fall element to this ride so if those things scare you, you may find this ride scary.
Honestly, whether they are scary is a personal decision and also is based on the age of the person going on the ride. If you can be brave enough to try both, I totally reccommend that you do. They are very good rides.
I didn't end up going on the Rockin Roller Coaster because I ended up going on the Tower of Terror first and that was it for thrill rides for the day! I guess I didn't like Tower of Terror because I really didn't know what to expect, which I suppose is the thrill of the ride. Best thing about any of these rides is they only last a few moments, so if you don't like them, they will be over fast!

tower of terror-a whole nother story. i was so scared on this ride which i also rode twice(why did i do that???) that was the worst ridei ever got on just dropping in pitch black darkness and occasionaly you get to see the sunlight just long enough for them to take a picture or you with a hellified face. but i would ride it again anytime!
Both rides are scary with a disney flare :) the coaster goes super fast! and the t.o.t takes the giggles out of you cuz of the sudden drops. Dont worry the rides are so much fun and the top 2 best must see rides at MGM studios.

I don't want to ruin either for you, but both have "shock" value to them. Scary? If they weren't.... then they'd just be transportation. I recommend them both.
