I'm writing a paper about the history of rock and roll, what should my "subtopics" be?

My paper is covering the history of rock and roll roughly between 1950 and 1980. I need four subtopics. I was thinking one of them could be about the BBCs bans on rock and roll..but Im not sure. help???|||Go with Genres


Starting with early forms and progressing:


Rockabilly (Elvis, Buddy Holly, Johny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Little Richard)


British Invasion (Beatles, Rolling Stones, Muddy Watters, Cream, The Animals, The Kinks)


Punk (Iggy Pop, velvet underground, the ramones, blondie, sex pistols)


Heavy Metal/Hair Bands(Led Zepplin, Black Sabbath, Kiss, Metalica, Poison)


Hip Hop (jazz poetry origins in the 70's Melle Mel, Kurtis Blow, NWA, Sugarhill Gang)|||You would probably want to do one subtopic about the origin of rock and roll, then one about its rise to popularity and the reasons behind it socially (I mean what was going on in the world that made teenagers drawn to this "rebellious" type of music). Then you would want one about the backlash from people who thought it was immoral (the BBC's bans would fall here), and then one that sort of looks to the present and explains how the music back then has influenced music and life in general now. You'll want to be specific about each of these topics, but these four subtopics would pretty much cover all of your bases, and all sides of the issue, which is what you want.
