King Crimson
Deep Purple
Judas Priest
Iron Maiden
Blue Oyster Cult|||I am so confused on what the R%26amp;R Hall of Fame's Criteria is I really don't know. They lack consistency. The problem is there are only 30 voters for the Hall so certain Genres(Heavy Metal/Progressive) don't seem to be among the favorites of those voters so those type of groups get forgotten.
They should have no fewer than 100 voters with experts in all genres of music included.
Edit:
It's 25 years after their debut album. There are groups that never had a Top 40 hit in the Hall(Velvet Underground, Stooges, etc) And Percy Sledge had one major song and didn't do a whole lot else and he is in but Brook Benton who had near 40 Top 40 hits isn't in. It's secretive because they don't have a set criteria at all. And I say in 2010 they had 30 voters...that's it!|||There's a lot of rules and regulations they have to meet to be inducted to the rock hall. There's people who vote and elect bands to be put into consideration. There's over 300 I think I was told. They have to wait about 20 or 30 years until after their debut album was released. I think they have to have so many hit songs, they have to have contributed to rock'n'roll in some way, and there is a lot more I've heard. There's a lot of things you hear on how to get in, but it's actually sort of secret on how to get in. I think it's becuase they don't leave it up to a system.
I've asked a man who worked there after leaving the autograph room of the inductees. He told me about some rules, but I can't remember all of them, try googling on how to get in.
Iron Maiden might have the best chance out of all of them. They really helped to develope and sort of make metal popular. One of the most popular and influential metal bands. Judas Priest has been campaigned for a lot as well. But, it's up to those 600 members. I wouldn't question it, they know what rock'n'roll is trust me.|||They all should! Don't forget about Rush! They basically invented progressive rock! Plus, they started having american airplay on the radio in Cleveland, which is where to Rock Hall is located. I would put all 6 of those bands in if i were to put them in the rock hall.|||I definitely think they should all get in the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame. Some of the most influential bands in Rock History.|||You mean not one of those bands has been inducted? King Crimson!!!! King Crimson hasn't been inducted? The R%26amp;R Hall of Fame really does suck.
