Why is it that Rush isn't in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?

Serious answers only, please.|||The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame isn't run by fans of rock music, it's run by bureaucracy. Bands like Rush aren't in the Hall of Fame in favor of bands like Abba because although Rush has had much more of an impact on the rock world, Abba has the record sales and the hit singles. There are many bands like Rush that deserve to be in the Hall and get overlooked every year like Kiss, Judas Priest, Motorhead, Canned Heat, Rory Gallagher, Boston, Thin Lizzy, and the the list goes on. Meanwhile we have Abba, Run D.M.C., Neil Diamond, Grandmaster Flash, Herb Albert, Brenda Lee, and Madonna in the Hall, some of them for many years now. Even L.L. Cool J was on the voting ballot last year. How many of those bands, whether you like them or not, would you honestly consider a rock and roll band? Even when the Hall gets it right they get it wrong, as is the case of Metallica, who had been eligible for many years before finally getting into the Hall. Sadly, it's all bureaucracy, and the real bands and the fans all suffer for it.|||Jann Wenner runs the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

ergo, The people selected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are selected on the basis of how much fun Jan Wenner thinks he will have at the induction party, and how much publicity he can get, not on the merits of the inductees.|||They've been in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame for, like, 12 years.



Plus, I think the Rock and Roll HAll of Fame is mostly American, isn't it?

They also pretty much refuse to touch any progressive rock acts. Notice Yes and the Moody Blues aren't in it either. It's kind of insulting, actually.|||I have no idea, but it should be a crime. Rush has influenced a lot of other bands to, like Dream Theater and way more than one drummer.



Edit: Just found out the same people run Rolling Stone...There's your answer! A bunch of cowards are responsible, looks like until every critic in the world can agree with them,(Which most of them are scared as well) Rush won't get in...|||Because the rock and roll hall of fame is a piece of sh*t they will put the girl who made hey mickey and some rap artist I forgot his name I think its snoop dog or whatever but they wont put in iron maiden,rush or weird al|||Its pretty absurd that they aren't when some artists that aren't even rock are in there.|||I think the whole thing is a joke.. Jackson 5, and Madonna, are both in the rock n roll hall of fame...
